Animal Cams Live
Katmai National Park Bear Cam
One of the world’s most famous live animal cams is the Brooks Falls cam, situated in Katmai National Park, Alaska. The Brooks Falls cam is ideally positioned to capture the region’s grizzly bears feasting on the annual run of salmon.
The action peaks between mid-summer and early fall, when bears gather from far and wide to feed on the migrating fish.
Viewers can watch the bears fighting over the best fishing spots, and catching salmon using a number of techniques, which range from clumsy lunges to catching leaping fish in their mouths!
- You can see live footage and find out more about the Brooks Falls live cam on this page: Katmai Live Bear Cam
Cornell Lab Bird Cams
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a part of Cornell University, which, as its name suggests, is devoted to the study of birds.
The Cornell Lab operates a number of live bird cams, not just from their base in Ithaca, New York, but also in other parts of the United States.
The lab’s live animal cams in Sapsucker Woods allow you to view a wide variety of woodland birds. There are also cameras currently watching ospreys in Montana and hummingbirds in west Texas.

safariLIVE
safariLIVE is one of our very favorite animal live cams. In fact, it’s much more than just a stationary wildlife cam; it’s a live TV show in which rangers take you on guided tours around a South African reserve.
The hosts are extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife they encounter. There’s also an interactive element to the live stream – viewers can ask the rangers questions via the comments section.
If the main show isn’t live when you tune in then you can watch previous episodes, highlight videos and other shows. There’s also the option to set a reminder for when the main show starts.

Djuma Waterhole Camera, Djuma Private Game Reserve, South Africa
The Djuma Waterhole Camera started broadcasting in 1998 and is the world’s oldest waterhole cam. The stars of the show are the area’s resident big cats, but you’ll also see antelopes, hyenas, warthogs, hippos, along with several species of birds and other animals.
The live cam is operated remotely by a team of volunteers who track the animals on the camera and record their sightings.

Southwest Florida Eagle Cam
The Southwest Florida Eagle Cam is focused on a bald eagle nest in Florida. It offers a fascinating glimpse into the lives of these majestic aerial predators.
If the nest is empty when you visit, use the timeline at the bottom of the video to search for a time when one or both of the resident eagles is present on the nest.

Nature Conservancy Australia ReefCams

Nature Conservancy Australia operate two live animal cams: one below the water; one above. The cameras are situated in Port Phillip Bay on Australia’s south coast.
On the underwater cam you’ll see fish passing through the swaying marine foliage. On the above-water cam you’ll see a variety of seabirds.
You can view the above-water cam here.
Bear Watching Transylvania
Situated in the deepest depths of Romania’s historic Transylvania region, these live animal cams capture not only bears, but also a wide variety of other local wildlife. Depending on when you tune in, you may see foxes, boars, deer and several species of birds.

A Note On Viewing Live Animal Cams
If there’s nothing much happening when you visit your chosen live animal cam, then you can ‘go back in time’ and watch the action that took place earlier in the day.
You can do this by hovering the mouse pointer over the video (or tap the screen on a phone or tablet). A timeline should appear at the bottom of the video. You can then drag the small circle on the timeline to the desired time (you may even see a thumbnail image of the video at that point).
